Hungarian Slovak Musician Group to Deliver Rare Performance Tonight in Metro Detroit

A small group of Hungarian-Slovak musicians are putting on a concert in Southgate tonight. They are some of the last performers with ties to the Roma community in Detroit’s Delray neighborhood. The group is back in town for a rare show.

Musician Alex Udvary spoke with WDET’s Marissa Gawel about his instrument, the cymbalom, and his music. Listen to their conversation by clicking the PLAY button above.

The concert is at 5:30 pm tonight at the Hungarian Rhapsody restaurant in Southgate.
