Dearborn WIll House Allen Park Prisoners

The Dearborn City Council has agreed to house Allen Park’s prisoners.

The City of Dearborn will temporarily house convicts jailed in Allen Park. Allen Park is currently without a municipal jail because officials are selling off city hall and momentarily moving into a nearby building.

Bob Cady is Allen Park’s Interim City Administrator. He says detainees will be transferred to Dearborn next week.

“We’re finalizing the procedures right now, the intake procedure, and all those things that have to be done before we actually start moving them,” Cady says. “We’re hoping in the next week or so that we will be transporting them and taking to Dearborn so we can formally shut down the old city hall.”

Cady says Allen Park could house prisoners in Dearborn for three years while the city searches for a permanent city hall facility.
