BIO

Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Isaac Prieto moved to Detroit in 2012 to pursue his medical degree at Wayne State University. Upon getting acclimated to the city, he quickly became engulfed by the music Detroit had to offer. Influenced by local artists that only play vinyl such as Kyle Hall, DJ Seoul, MGUN & DJ Roach, he quickly became motivated to follow in their path while creating his own unique sound.

Within his first year of playing out, Isaac proved he was very capable of performing in some of Detroit’s best venues such as TV Lounge, Adult Contemporary, The Works, Northern Lights, Whiskey Disco and Bert’s Warehouse. But after digging through all the record stores he could find in Detroit, Isaac traveled across 9 different countries in Europe for 5 weeks in search of something new. After experiencing the underground music scene from so many different cultures and being able to play for different crowds overseas, Isaac returned with a much more minimal approach to his music while still maintaining his roots in Detroit’s classic Acid House.

Last summer, Isaac displayed impressive performances at many Detroit festivals such as Charivari which led him to be picked up by Auxetic, one of Detroit’s major talent agencies managing artists such as Erika, Karina, K. Atou, & Bruce Bailey. Although Isaac’s musical career seems to be growing at an exponential rate, he continues balance this “Double Life” on top of his rigorous medical curriculum showing his versatility & dedication to hard work which transpire through his sounds. All these experiences have led him to start producing his own music, and in addition to the tracks he’s released on his soundcloud, Isaac is on the verge of completing his first EP. He will be releasing 300 copies his new album under a new Detroit vinyl only label, “Cass City” meant only for those who know.
