College Ranking Site Says WSU Campus Among Safest

BestColleges.com ranks Wayne State among 50 safest campuses in the country.

A web site that rates colleges according to a host of data ranks Wayne State University as one of the 50 safest campuses in the country. BestColleges.com says students benefit from 24-hour police patrols, shuttle services, and the school’s Rape Aggression Defense Program. Wayne State Police Chief Anthony Holt tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller the initiative teaches women how to protect themselves against sexual assault. Western Michigan University and Grand Valley State University also made the list.

Wayne State’s police department lists monthly crime data on its web site. Here are the latest figures through April 2015.
