Feds Urge Houses of Worship to Increase Security

Law enforcement officials are telling faith-leaders to watch for threats from outside, and inside, houses of worship.

Officials held a summit at Wayne State University this week with an interfaith panel to discuss ways to secure the places where they worship in the wake of a recent shooting at a Bible study in Charleston, South Carolina.

The U.S. Attorney for the eastern district of Michigan, Barbara McQuade, tells WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter there are a variety of methods to defend against potential hate crimes.

Here’s a link to the FBI video showing the best responses to an active shooting situation.
