Environmental Groups Question Need to Expand I-94 [Document]

The Michigan Department of Transportation is scheduled to host four public meetings next week on the proposed expansion of I-94 in Detroit. Officials will present new traffic data and listen to concerns from the public about the project. The Sierra Club and other groups question the need to expand the freeway. Nick Schroeck of the Great Lakes Environmental Law Center tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller the project’s design is based on traffic and environmental assessments that are over 10 years old
