Former DMC CEO Arthur Porter Passes Away in Panama

Arthur Porter, former CEO of the DMC, died yesterday at the age of 59 after a fight with cancer.

Former Detroit Medical Center CEO Arthur Porter has died. Porter left the city around 2004 to serve as director general of the McGill University Health Center in Montreal. He later moved to the Bahamas where a fraud accusation by the Canadian government landed him in a Panama jail. 

Arthur Porter’s biographer is Jeff Todd. He talked with WDET’s Marissa Gawel about how Porter’s time in Detroit launched his controversial career.
