New Road Plan Could Mean Higher Fuel Tax, Lower Income Tax

The Michigan Senate could vote Wednesday on a plan to raise the state’s gasoline tax to pay for road and bridge repairs. The package may also include a conditional cut in the state’s income tax rate. Michigan Public Radio’s Jake Neher tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller the gas tax hike wouldn’t come all at once.
