Experiments in Residence: Spread Art Announces a Family-Oriented Residency

It is very, very, very difficult to find dedicated space, mentally as well as physically, for performing, creating or producing your own work [for working artist’s with kids]”

James Cornish, Artist-in-Residence at Spread Art

Spread Art have taken their artist-in-residency programs from the mean streets of Bushwick to Detroit. Their performance space and gallery can be found at Detroit Contemporary in Woodbridge. Now, directors Christina deRoos and Thomas Bell are launching a new program geared towards artists with families. The two are joined by artist James Cornish as they talk art with WDET’s Travis Wright.
