Time Is Running Out for Wayne County Property Owners Facing Foreclosure [Link to Pay Taxes Online]

Tuesday, May 12, is the deadline for thousands of Wayne County property owners to pay their back taxes or risk foreclosure. When the year began, more than 70-thousand properties were at risk of being foreclosed. Since then, the county has worked with owners to arrange payment plans and avoid losing their properties. Wayne County Deputy Treasurer David Szymanski tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller that about 40-thousand properties are no longer in foreclosure.

Facing foreclosure? You can pay your taxes online and get more information at the Wayne County Treasurer’s website. You can also e-mail taxinfo@waynecounty.com or call 313-224-5990.
