Get up and get moving for ACES Day/Bike to School Day.

Michigan officials are encouraging students to live a healthy lifestyle this week. A project called “All Children Exercise Simultaneously Day,” also known as “ACES Day” will promote physical activity on May 6, including a “Bike to School” initiative.

Michigan Fitness Foundation CEO J.J. Tighe says the event will push kids to get in shape.

“Physical activity is probably the single most important thing that we can do to improve the health and wellness of anybody in the state and so it’s being promoted as an activity that will help us get on that path and build a healthier Michigan.”

J.J. Tighe, CEO of the Michigan Fitness Foundation

Tighe says thousands of schools are participating in this year’s event. He says the events will take place on Wednesday.
