Toronto-based producer Ron Skinner’s Top Quality Music project makes unique recordings in unique spaces. Together with the Detroit Bop Quintet, Skinner set out to recreate and revamp two recordings by Jazz-legend Charlie Parker; the Bird himself recorded at Detroit’s United Sound Systems in 1947 with Miles Davis on trumpet and Max Roach on drums. Ron Skinner and DBQ’s Paul Keller (bass) talk shop with WDET’s Travis Wright.
