R&B songstress Bettye Layette has been making music for most of her life. Signing to Atlantic Records at age 16, she’s had Top Ten singles, Broadway solos, and a cult following that continues to this day. Now, she’s being honored by the Detroit Music Awards. She stops by to talk with WDET’s Travis Wright about her life in music, her unique voice, and her newfound popularity.
