MO-POP Heads to Motown: Michigan’s Indie Rock Fest Moves to Detroit

There hasn’t been a big indie rock festival in the city… nothing of this scale.” - Dan McGown, Mo-Pop Fest

For the past two years, the MO-POP Festival has brought some of the biggest names in indie rock to the Freedom Hill Amphitheater in Sterling Heights. This year, its founders are moving the festival into the city, activating an underutilized park on the Detroit River Downtown Detroit.

We hear from festival organizers Jason Rogalewski (AEG Live)  and Dan McGowan (The Crofoot Presents), plus listen to new music from Modest Mouse and Jessica Hernandez & the Deltas, two of the many acts revealed to be on the bill this summer.
