Slow Your Roll: It’s North American Bicycle Week in Detroit

Spring is in the air, and the Slow Roll bike ride is back at it with the first annual international Slow Roll caucus.

“Now we really can focus on making Detroit the best it can be, so that we have the tools of what’s necessary to make it amazing all over the world.”

The Slow Roll bike ride started five years ago as a casual trip around Detroit among friends. The weekly event now attracts thousands from around the region. North American Bike week kicks off in Detroit Wednesday and culminates with the Slow Roll season opener on Sunday. The co-founder of Slow Roll, Mike MacKool, tells WDET’s Travis Wright that the city has inspired the growth of the event.
