The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is holding its annual Classical Roots celebration this weekend.

The performances are designed to honor the legacy of African-Americans in classical music.

Paul Hogle is the DSO’s Executive Vice President. He spoke with WDET’s Jerome Vaughn. Hogle says the Classical Roots program is well into its fourth decade.

A special black tie event is scheduled for Saturday night
