Accounting Assistant (Part-Time)

We are looking to hire a part-time accounting assistant to help process membership payments, underwriting payments and donations. He or she should be detail-oriented, very good with numbers, well versed in Microsoft Excel and willing to learn several web-based financial programs.  In addition, this position supports station reception and will answer phones and greet and direct guests. This position is part-time, requiring 20 hours each week.

 

Job Responsibilities


  • Process incoming check and credit card payments and contributions (identifying member/donor accounts as necessary) for delivery to the Fund Office and prepare spreadsheet of daily activity.
  • Process underwriting check and credit card payments, prepare for delivery to Cashier’s Office and prepare a spreadsheet of activity
  • Post pledge payments to member accounts in Allegiance
  • Process all cash/checks for production, studio rental, merchandise and event revenue payments in CashNet system and prepare for delivery to Cashier’s Office
  • Process Notice of Receipt of Gift (NRGM) form for all Matching Gifts, Foundation Gifts and Car Donations and prepare for delivery to Fund Office
  • Fill-in receptionist duties – receive, direct and screen calls, take messages, problem solve caller issues, open and sort incoming mail, welcome guests and get them signed in and ready to go on air
  • Document station giveaways when listeners come to pick up tickets
  • Operate the following office equipment – copier, adding machine, fax, and scanner
  • Access the following software – Allegiance, Cash Net, Academica and Virtual Terminal Credit Card Charge, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Support Business Manager and staff as needed. Perform related work as assigned.

 

Preferred Skills & Qualifications


  • High School diploma required
  • Minimum of 2 years customer service and data entry experience
  • Use of Allegiance Fundraising or related donor database experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities
  • Friendly outgoing personality
  • Strong database management skills
