Barack Obama is scheduled to visit Metro Detroit this month.

The former president is headed out to campaign for Democrats ahead of the November 8 mid-term elections. Obama is set to visit several battleground states over the next few weeks, including Georgia, Wisconsin and Michigan.

He’ll travel to Metro Detroit on Saturday, October 29, for a rally with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Lt. Governor Garland Gilchrist and other Democratic candidates. Event details have not been released yet.

“With access to abortion, voting rights, and public education on the line, the stakes in this election could not be higher. Governor Whitmer is thrilled to welcome President Obama to Detroit to rally Michiganders and make sure everyone’s voice is heard in November,” Whitmer campaign spokesperson Joseph Costello told WDIV.

Whitmer and her GOP opponent Tudor Dixon are scheduled to make their second televised debate October 25 at Oakland University.
