Broadway legend and Metro Detroiter Jeffrey Seller talks return of theater, Hamilton at Fisher

“Rent,” “In the Heights” and “Hamilton” producer says he didn’t realize the kind of success his shows would have before they reached such acclaim.

Jeffrey Seller is the producer of “Rent,” “Avenue Q,” “In the Heights,” and “Hamilton.  A Michigan native, Seller says during the first few months of the pandemic he was concerned the virus would keep people separated forever. Now, he says he’s enthused that he’s able to attend live events.

“The perseverance and the hard work of so many people in our society,” says Seller, “has caused us to be able to go out now, and go to those restaurants and go to those bars and go to the Super Bowl and the Michigan game or the DSO — and that’s what makes me feel so alive when I can go to all those things.”
