Tribute from WDET’s Ann Delisi

SUBMITTED BY: Ann Delisi, Host “Essential Music”

1983 was a special year in my life. Ed Love and I both started working at WDET that year, and as a result, I was treated to a front-row seat watching a broadcasting legend at work.

When I started, I wasn’t on the air, but worked in the music library soaking in every genre of music imaginable. Listening to Ed was truly a master class in broadcasting and college education in jazz music. Speaking of which, he even helped me with my term paper for my jazz class when I was studying music at Wayne State University. Thanks to Ed, I got an “A”.

Thank you, Ed, for your brilliance as a broadcaster, for the hours of captivating conversations and for teaching all of us about the world of jazz.
