Dave Coulter is Now Oakland County Executive. What’s Going to Change?

Host Stephen Henderson speaks with Crain’s Detroit Business Senior Editor Chad Livengood about the future of Oakland County after the political dust settles.

Ferndale Mayor Dave Coulter will be the next executive of Oakland County.

His appointment comes after the death of longtime executive L. Brooks Patterson at age 80, followed by days of backroom dealing, scandal, and political chaos in Oakland County.

What’s the future of Oakland County after all of this?

“I think the next leader of Oakland County, Republican or Democrat, is going to have a decision to make whether to continue the economic isolationism of L. Brooks Patterson or move toward more regional governance,” says Crain’s Detroit Business Senior Editor Chad Livengood.

Coulter will join Detroit Today with Stephen Henderson on Tuesday, August 20, at 9 a.m.
