It’s been over three years since we found out the people of Flint were being poisoned by their drinking water.
How is Flint doing now, and what happens next? And how are other Michigan cities doing after numerous crises — public health, financial, and otherwise.
Detroit Today host Stephen Henderson speaks with Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence (D-Southfield) about the challenges facing Michigan cities like Flint, Detroit, and her hometown of Southfield.
He also speaks with Congressman Dan Kildee, a Democrat who represents Flint, about the status of that city’s water crisis, how Flint is recovering, and about water contamination in locations all over the state of Michigan.
The conversation about Flint continues with Tim Herman, CEO of the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce, and Tyler Rossmaessler, the economic development director of that organization. Herman and Rossmaessler talk about how the city has fared economically in the years following the news of the water crisis and whether it has affected investment in Flint.
