On tonight’s episode of The Progressive Underground, host Chris Campbell profiles the NU BOSSA music genre.  Nu Bossa is a contemporary take on bossa nova, the genre of Brazilian music, which is a lyrical fusion of samba and jazz and popularized in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s by acts such as Antonia Carlos Jobim, Stan Getz, Sergio Mendes, Astrud Gilberto and many others.  Music from artists from the new school of bossa nova (nu bossa) will be spotlighted such as Bebel Gilberto (pictured), Jazzamor, Sabrina Malheiros, Don Gorda Project, Khari Cabral Simmons, Julie Dexter, Sergio Mendes, Lisa Maroni, Rosalia De Souza, and many more!
