Michigan State University has announced a security breach to its computer and data systems.

More than 400,000 files were hacked on November 13th.  The university has confirmed that more than 400 students and employees had their data accessed.  Leaked information included names, social security numbers and dates of birth.

“Out of precaution, we are going to offer all of those individuals, the 400,000, free credit monitoring,” says Cody.

He says MSU has contacted the affected individuals and their families by e-mail, phone, social media and traditional news sources.
