More Women on Boards but No More in Power Positions

Updated survey says the needle hasn’t moved when it comes to women executives holding top positions

A newly updated report from Inforum, a professional womens organization says despite the historic appointment of a woman CEO at a Michigan – based Fortune 500 automotive company – female presence in both boardrooms and C-Suites of the state’s biggest companies has flatlined and inclusion of women among the highest compensated officers in their companies has declined. Inforum CEO, Terry Barclay speaks with Stephen Henderson about the new information. According to Barclay:

  • Slow Progress:  At the current pace, it will take 80 years to have global gender equality
  • Good News:  All Fortune 500 Companies in Michigan have females on the board of directors
  • Bad News:  Only about 11.5% of corporate board of directors seats in Michigan are occupied by women
