Can Football Thrive if it Doesn’t Change?

Former college football player/coach talks about changes the sport needs to make if it’s to have a future.

Robert Thornbladh, former football player and assistant coach for the University of Michigan Wolverines, speaks with Stephen Henderson today about the safety of football and its future. Here’s some of the conversation:

Six Steps: According to Thornbladh, there are six steps that need to be followed in order for football to be saved. The steps ranged from better coaching to the rules of the game being changed.

Football’s Future: “It’s in great jeopardy,” Thornbladh says, noting that right now the game is at a crossroads and its future cannot be predicted. He adds that unless the game changes its barbaric ways, football cannot be preserved for the future.
