Here at WDET we've learned over the years that it is sometimes easier for our loyal friends to give us "hard goods" rather than cash. (There are tax advantages, too!) The list of items that the radio station needs -- but just hasn't been able to squeeze into the cash operating budget -- is always significant. We will keep this Wish List updated with a list of desired items that hopefully, a generous Friend can provide!

Internal Revenue Service regulations stipulate that the donor must establish the value of the in-kind gift in writing.

Think of it as your contribution to our hard day's work at Detroit Public Radio.

WDET's Current Wish List

• "FireKing" High-Capacity Safe, UL Class 125 with 2-hour fire and impact rating, 75"H x 44" W x 31"D. This unit would be used to store critical station documents, master audio tapes for the DET Live compact disc projects, irreplaceable archive materials, etc. Estimated cost: $8,800

• Remote control tools for the Broadcast Engineering Department and the Computing Department. Estimated cost: $6,000

• Musical instruments for Studio A, our live music studio, including a Steinway baby grand piano, Fender Stratocaster guitar, Fender bass guitar, Martin acoustic guitar, Fender guitar amplifier and Fender bass amplifier.
