WDET's Pat Batcheller gets a 'Taste of Eastern Market' with Director of Marketing and Communications for Eastern Market, La'Leatha Spillers and the Rattlesnake Club's Executive Chef Chris Franz, who's kicking off Taste of Eastern Market in Shed 2 today.

Pat also gets a preview of CRAFT, an upcoming event at Eastern Market, featuring local ingredients and craft cocktails, taking place Aug. 1 in Shed 3. Proceeds from the event will be split between Eastern Market and the Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan. Director of Development for CLF Jackie McIntosh, and the Owner of Ferndale-based Valentine Distilling, Riffino Valentine join Pat to talk about the event.

WDET's Ann Delisi talks with Eitan Sussman of Keep Growing Detroit, about urban farming and gardening efforts in Detroit.

Ann also talks with The Rattlesnake Club's Executive Chef Chris Franz about the special Snake-Style BBQ that took place Friday (July 18) night.

Ann rounds out her last hour of Essential Music with an interview with The Spice Miser himself, Jim Yaw.
