November 25, 2013

Join us for special Thanksgiving programming featuring The Yiddish Radio Project, Detroit-native Glynn Washington's Snap Judgment, The Third Coast Festival Broadcast, and World Cafe's Sense of Place special on Detroit.

Thursday, November 28

10-11AM / 7-8PM

The Yiddish Radio Project Special explores the lost world of Yiddish Radio Programs that were rescued from dusty storage rooms on acetate discs from the early days of radio. You'll hear clips from original shows and first person stories from the people who made the programs, listened to the programs and saved the programs. Explore photos and audio at www.yiddishradioproject.org.

11-NOON / 8-9PM

Detroit-native Glynn Washington created the NPR radio program, Snap Judgment, after winning The Public Radio Talent Quest. We'll air an episode titled “Gratitude,” featuring first-person storytelling with a sound and percussion-rich production style. The stories take place in unexpected scenarios around the world.
