The Sunday Sessions 025: DJ Tito Pulpo

Internationally renowned, Spain-based DJ/spin doctor Tito Pulpo's tagline reads 50 % HUMAN/100 % MUSIC.

Having grown up around music, Pulpo has been able to share his music stylings all around the globe. With his basic music influences stemming from his West Indian background; reggae, soul and gospel, he started at an early age playing the recorder in elementary school while playing multiple instruments that included clarinet and saxophone.

After a friend of his acquired a set of turntables, Pulpo's life would be forever changed as he developed a love mixing. He and his friends would have mixing contests where they honed their skills while trying to out-mix each other.

Many an hour in gospel sermons have served to inspire the true uplifting vibe which he brings with his music.

Always wanting to expand his music horizons, Pulpo would migrate around the music world assuming various roles such as DJ, party promoter, sound engineer - positions that would give him a broad and informed perspective especially in the genre of soulful house music.

Studying music from an early age at school and no stranger behind a mixer he has decided to bring the vibe which he truly loves out to the people through Save Our Soul - a movement and website that allows him to share his gift with a wide-ranging and diverse audience.

Pulpo's mix that is featured on this edition of the Sunday Sessions is "The Mojito Mix," which explores the deep, multi-textured world of nu-jazz, soulful jazz house and exotic techno.
