StoryCorps' mobile booth is located in front of the Carr Center in Detroit’s Harmonie Park/Paradise Valley district. You can learn more and make reservations now. Today’s story comes from Cynthia Vecera. She says as a child she grew up in an abusive home with an alcoholic father and worked hard to overcome her past. Vecera shares her thoughts on motherhood and her hopes for her son, Sam.
