Question Of The Day

“How segregated does Detroit feel to you today?”

September 10th, 2012

WDET is helping to collect stories and information for an audio tour of Detroit attractions. One of the places to be featured will be the home of Dr. Ossian Sweet. In September 1925, Sweet, an African American doctor, moved his family into a white neighborhood on Detroit’s eastside. Shots were fired from Sweet’s home when a mob formed outside. The incident led to a landmark trial.

So, WDET’s Question of the Day is “How segregated does Detroit feel to you today?”
