“Should Puerto Rico become the 51st state?”

Puerto Rico has been an American territory for over 100 years. The Republican Party’s platform – released during the convention – calls for possible statehood. Meanwhile, voters on the island will consider whether to continue as a commonwealth, become the next state in the union or push for complete independence.

So, WDET’s Question of the Day is “Should Puerto Rico become the 51st state, why or why not?”
