    Tonight's episode features our usual playlist of electronica, deep house/techno, future soul, chill wave, b-sides and rare groove along with profiling Canadian rock/soul artist SAIDAH BABA TALIBAH.

    There’s Rock n’ Roll. And then there’s the Rock n’ Soul of buzzy Toronto-bred vocalist Saidah Baba Talibah, daughter of Tony and Grammy Award-nominated icon Salome Bey, “Canada’s First Lady of Blues.”

    Strong bloodline notwithstanding, Saidah is a fierce artist that isn’t afraid to combine rock/funk/soul in all of her performances! Catch our interview with her as she talks about growing up in a musical family, her creative process and what she's got lined up in the immediate future.

    Musician/producer SIR SWIFTUS FUNKELLWERK to be profiled on tonight TPU, 8pm (EST), WDET 101.9 FM - The Progressive Underground

    SIR SWIFTUS W. FUNKELLWERK is a Detroit-based producer, musician, funk auteur who has been a mainstay on the regional music scene as a solo artist and as band member/leader of funk groups such as Loose Change and Parashoot. Funkellwerk has also transitioned into the adult contemporary R & B and hip hop genres as well.
