Talking Transit With Former Mayor Of Bogotá Enrique Peñalosa

Former Mayor of Bogotá, Colombia, Enrique Peñalosa joins Laura Weber-Davis for a conversation about sustainability and mobility in urban areas, and specifically in Detroit. He talks with Laura ahead of his lecture and panel discussion with local leaders in Detroit's transit and mobility sectors, tonight (August 20) at 6:45 p.m. at The Max.

He tells Laura about the crucial role of sidewalks and reliable, accessible public transit in every city. "When we're creating cities, we're creating a way of life which could be happier," he says of urban planning and infrastructure. He also discusses his own personal and professional experiences ranging from his time spent living in Paris, to his time spent serving as the Mayor of Bogota from 1998-2001.
