Students associated with YOUTH VOICE at the Harriet Tubman Center plan to march this Thursday starting at Hart Plaza.
Spokesperson Sarah Craft says: "We're marching to the Mayor, Chief of Police and US Attorney to get the city to implement a violence reduction plan called Ceasefire. Ceasefire has been implemented in over 100 other cities across the country and has proven to work-- In Boston, youth homicide rates decreased by 63%; Cincinnati had a 68% decrease; High Point, NC had a 57% decrease. The deaths the weekend of August 12th are a very loud and clear call to action. The city needs something that works."
