Thursday, April 3, 2014

Wayne State University will inaugurate President M. Roy Wilson April 4. He's here to share his plans for the university's future.

The Board of Governors elected Wilson as the university’s 12th president on June 5, 2013. Prior to Wayne State, Wilson was the deputy director for strategic scientific planning and program coordination at the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities of the National Institutes of Health.

"Being part of a city that's ... in transition is a once in a lifetime experience," said Wilson.

Regarding longterm investment into Wayne State, Wilson said the investment in the new Multidisciplinary Biomedical Research Building will reap benefits for the university and the community alike.
