In 2010, the most intact specimen of an adult woolly mammoth was discovered in the Siberian frozen tundra. Since then, the 10-thousand-year-old mammoth has only been closely examined once by researchers. Among that small group of scientists was University of Michigan Professor and paleontologist Daniel Fisher.

WDET’s Laura Weber spoke with Fisher about what we can learn from the immaculately preserved woolly mammoth, and whether it brings us closer to cloning the extinct creatures.
