For more than 30 years Mary Ann Aitken painted prolifically. Aitken studied and worked among the most recognized artists of Detroit’s Cass Corridor. But for more than three decades her work went mostly unnoticed, until now. A new gallery in Southwest Detroit called What Pipeline is exhibiting her work. Gallery owner Alivia Zivich Artist Ed Fraga spoke to WDET’s Martina Guzman about the significance of Aitkens work.
