WDET Special: US Rising: Emerging Voices in Post 9/11 America

On Friday,September 9, 2011, Craig Fahle moderated a panel discussion at the University of Michigan-Dearborn featuring three young Americans and one Canadian student who discussed how the events on September 11, 2001 shaped their lives. This one-hour program is the audio from the panel.

The panelists included:
Linda Sarsour, the Advocacy and Civic Engagement Cooridinator for the national Network for Arab American Communities and Access;
Will Youmans, an activist and hip-hop artist whose group, Iron Sheik, was on of the first Arab-American hip-hop acts to garner national attention. Youmans is currently pursuing a Phd at the University of Michigan.
Askif Kahn, a native of Canada and a current student at the University of Michigan-Dearborn who is the information technology chair for the Muslim Student Association;
David Knezek, a veteran of the U.S. armed services who served two tours in Iraq and is currently the President of the University of Michigan--Dearborn Student Government.
