A forum to investigate methods of selection of Supreme Court justices in the 50 states and evaluation of Michigan’s unique system of selection of Supreme Court justices is happening today at the Wayne State University Law School. The forum is sponsored by the Judicial Selection Task Force and chaired by Michigan Supreme Court Justice Marilyn Kelly and Senior Judge James L. Ryan of the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Retired United States Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, who is also honorary chair of the task force, will keynote the forum. Craig talks to Justice Kelly about this issue and the goals of the forum.
