The Craig Fahle Show

Shaka Senghor: The Power of Words in "Writing my Wrongs"

Monday, February 4, 2013

Shaka Senghor, native Detroiter, author and mentor, joins Craig in-studio to share his journey from incarceration to MIT Media Lab Director's Fellow. Senghor will discuss his latest Memoir, "Writing my Wrongs," and personal experience with youth violence in the city.

After being convicted of second-degree murder at age 19, Senghor used his 19-year sentence to reflect on the events that had led him down a destructive path. Since his release in 2010, Senghor has dedicated his life to educating others on the importance of humanity and the role of literature in personal transformation.

Senghor will host a reading and discussion Tuesday, February 5th at Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History from 6-9pm.
