Seven Days, Seven Stories

Detroit Heritage Week is July 25-31, 2011. This year, the Detroit Historical Society is doing something very special to celebrate Detroit's 310th Birthday. The public is invited to visit the Detroit Historical Museum to hear seven stories throughout the seven days of Heritage Week. Admission is free with the museum open every day from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. To find out more about the stories that will be told each day, go here.

Joining us to talk about this celebration is Bob Sadler, Director of Public Relations for the Detroit Historical Society and Author Amy Clarke of Inventerrific who will be speaking on Monday, July 25 about some of our region’s greatest innovations from the Slinky to Tinker Toys.

Now, check out the list of daily exhibits and let us know which one you're most excited about. Also, obviously they can't tell the entire story of Detroit in seven days, but is there a major component of Detroit's history that you don't see represented in the program? If so, let us know what you would have liked to see that's not there.
