Sesame Street Helps Kids with Parents in Jail

Nearly 2.7 million Children have a parent in state or federal prison. Little Children, Big Challenges: Incarceration is a program designed to provide support and comfort and to reduce anxiety and confusion in young children (ages 3-8) during the incarceration of a parent.

The program also hopes to provide caregivers with strategies and appropriate language to communicate with children about incarceration and inform incarcerated parents about ways they can parent while imprisoned.
