This year the Port Huron Statement turns 50. It was designed to be “An Agenda for a Generation,” was the founding document of the Students for a Democratic Society and promoted a more just and peaceful America. The statement was formed during a relatively conservative political period in our country, which makes it in some ways relevant, even today. Craig speaks with Alan Haber, the first president of the SDS and one of the authors of the Port Huron Statement about the document and its 50th anniversary.
