On today's show, Craig talks with Daniel Webster, Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health about a new study on gun laws. With the election just a week away, the race in the 12th Congressional district is heating up. WDET's Pat Batcheller spoke with Democratic candidate Rep. John Dingell, incumbent from the 15th district, and Republican candidate Cynthia Kallgren about the race and what they would do if elected. Craig speaks with Michael Dunne, President of Dunne & Company(a Hong Kong-based consultancy specializing in Asian car markets) and a leading expert on China's auto industry, about the issues surrounding the auto trade between the U.S. and China. Dunne also writes a blog for the Wall Street Journal online called the "China Realtime Report." Craig speaks with Scott Hagerstrom of Americans for Prosperity and Roger Martin of Defend Michigan Democracy about Michigan's Proposal 5. If passed, prop 5 will require a two-thirds majority of the State House and the State Senate or a statewide vote to increase or reorganize taxes as part of the Michigan constitution. Rod Rock, Superintendent for Clarkston Community Schools, and Ron Ritchhart, Senior Research Associate with Project Zero from Harvard University, will discuss new ways to teach ahead of the International Education Conference. Julia Elliott of Metro Parent talks about Halloween trends and options for the big night.
