On today's show, WDET's Pat Batchellor joins Craig to talk sports. After the NBA finals last night, the two discuss the Miami Heat victory and the NBA's most controversial figure, LeBron James. Michigan State University Community Music School and the Outer Vibe have partnered to create Rock Camp. The members of Outer Vibe speak with Craig about the program, which allows teen musicians ages 12-18 from local middle and high schools to join a band, learn about the the music business and prepare for a final concert at the 6th Annual Detroit River Days Festival. Continuing with the River Days Festival, Craig is joined by Chair of The Detroit RiverFront Conservancy Matt Cullen to talk about all of the food, music, games and entertainment in store at the festival this weekend.
This week's Friday Follies welcomes guests Desiree Cooper and M.L. Elrick. Cooper and Elrick join Craig to discuss some of the biggest stories in the news this week. Drummer legend Steve Smith stops by to talk about his craft and his jazz ensemble, Steve Smith and Vital Information, performing tonight at the Jazz Cafe. WDET's Travis Wright joins Craig to close out the show with his weekly segment, Weekend the Wright Way, where the duo lay out all of the fun and festivities taking place this weekend in and around Detroit.
