The Craig Fahle Show

Podcast 6.24.14: M-1 Rail Update, India World 101 & Clarinetist David Krakauer

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

Today on the show, Craig gets an update on the M-1 rail project from Detroit Free Press reporter John Gallagher. Author Chris Schroeder joins Craig to discuss the technological and mobile movement that's reshaping the cultural and economic landscape in the Middle East. Schroeder has also written a book called Startup Rising: Entrepreneurial Revolution Remaking in the Middle East. Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan has been in office for nearly six months -- the mile-marker he set in January for noticeable progress under his leadership. Craig is joined by a Detroit Journalism Cooperative panel to discuss Duggan's work and what still needs to be done in Detroit. Actress Jane Seymour speaks with Craig about the new PBS show she's hosting called, "Feel Grand." Clarinetist David Krakauer joins Craig ahead of his performance at tonight's Mix at the Max with a DSO string quartet, and performs in the studio. This week, we continue our World 101 series and take a look at India with Saeed Khan, Lecturer in the Department of History and Near East & Asian Studies at Wayne State University and Michael Kugelman, Senior Program Associate for South and Southeast Asia at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
