The Craig Fahle Show

Podcast 6.13.14: No Money For Roads, More Urban Oil Drilling, Friday Follies

Friday, June 13, 2014

Today on the show, we hear from Senate Minority Leader, Gretchen Whitmer, about why she thinks that the legislature adjourned for summer with passing additional money for roadwork. Detroit News Political Reporter, Chad Livengood also adds his perspective.

Traverse City-based West Bay Exploration is working on developing oil wells in Scio Township outside of Ann Arbor and Rochester Hills. This raises the question of oil drilling in urban areas. Craig speaks with an oil company representative and the legislator for one of the districts included in the proposed drilling area.

Also a Fathers Day Poem and a Father so dedicated to his mentally ill son that he creates an entire new facility for young people who don't want conventional mental health treatment.

And a conversation with Michael Bolton about his love of Motown music and his new documentary about changes taking place in Detroit.

Plus, we take a lighthearted look at the news of the week during the Friday Follies. This week's guests are Free Press Columnist, Nancy Kaffer, Michigan Public Radio Network's Jake Neher and Alan Lengel from Deadline Detroit.
