Tuesday, August 27, 2013

Law enforcement in Metro Detroit is trying to find ways to stem the recent increase in carjackings. The new plan includes utilizing volunteers who will go door to door passing out door hangers, posters and other information to provide safety tips and direct people to call HEAT’s 24-hour hotline at 1-800-242-HEAT when they have tips on carjackings, car thefts, chop shops and others auto-related crimes. Callers, can earn up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Craig speaks with Detroit Crime Commission, Executive Director, Andy Arena about the recent statistics and other crime related issues
